Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

ClubPlay (clubplay.co.za) is operated by Club Play (Pty) Ltd (registration 2026/646575/07), an independent comparison site for licensed South African bookmakers. ClubPlay doesn't offer gambling services itself, and isn't responsible for how an independent bookmaker processes your information once you leave clubplay.co.za, its own privacy policy applies there.

2. What we actually collect, and from where

ClubPlay collects very little, and only what's described here:

• Correspondence you send us: emailing an address on our Contact page opens your own email application, we only see what you choose to send, kept to respond to your enquiry.
• The “Get notified about new operators” sign-up form: your name and email address, submitted directly to our form processor, web3forms.com, which forwards it to our inbox. See section 7 for that processor.
• The newsletter box in the site footer: not yet connected to a live mailing system, no email address is transmitted or stored by submitting it today. This section will be updated once it goes live.
• Standard technical logs generated by our hosting provider for every visit (IP address, browser and device information, pages requested), used for security, abuse prevention and diagnostics.
• A single strictly-necessary flag saved to your device's local storage confirming you've passed our 18+ age check, so you're not asked again. It contains no personal information and is never sent to our servers, see our Cookie Policy.

We don't ask for gambling-account passwords, payment card details, or identity-verification documents for anything on ClubPlay, please don't send us these. We don't knowingly collect any special category of information (such as health data) through ordinary use of the site.

3. Why we process it

We only use personal data for an identified purpose:

• Operating the site securely and diagnosing problems: our legitimate interest in running a functioning, secure comparison site.
• Responding to an enquiry or correcting a factual error you've flagged: our legitimate interest in maintaining accurate listings and accountable publishing.
• Sending the update notifications you signed up for through the “Get notified” form, once we start sending them: your consent, given by submitting that form.
• Reconciling affiliate commissions once tracking links are live: our legitimate interest in accurately attributing and settling referral records, see section 6.
• Keeping records we're legally required to keep, and defending a legal claim: legal obligation, or our legitimate interest in establishing or defending our rights.

4. Cookies and similar technology

We use very little of this, and none of it for advertising or cross-site tracking today. See our Cookie Policy for the full detail, including Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which are cookieless and only give us aggregated, anonymised traffic and performance numbers, never individual tracking.

5. Affiliate links and referral data

ClubPlay may earn commission when you sign up to a bookmaker through a link on the site, see our Affiliate Disclosure. Once a tracking link is active for a given operator, clicking it may share standard referral information, such as which page you came from and a click or referral identifier, with that operator or its affiliate network, the same way it would from any other referring website. We use only the information needed to calculate or verify commission, and distinguish individual-level reports from aggregated statistics where we can. Clicking a link isn't consent to unrelated tracking or marketing by that operator.

6. Recipients and service providers

We don't sell personal information. We share it only where necessary to run the site:

• Vercel Inc., who hosts clubplay.co.za and provides Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights.
• Web3Forms, who processes submissions from the “Get notified about new operators” form and forwards them to our inbox.
• A bookmaker or its affiliate network, limited to the referral data described in section 5, once tracking links are active.
• A professional adviser or authority, where disclosure is legally required or necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

7. International transfers

Vercel and Web3Forms are based outside South Africa, so the information in section 6 they handle may be processed on servers outside the country. We only use established providers, and only for the purposes described in this policy. We don't treat general use of the site as consent to any transfer beyond what's described here.

8. Retention

We keep correspondence only for as long as reasonably needed to resolve your enquiry, and “Get notified” sign-ups for as long as that notification list stays active, or until you ask us to remove you. We don't keep identifiable data longer than its purpose requires.

9. Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, to object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time (withdrawal doesn't undo processing already lawfully carried out). Contact us using the details in section 1 to exercise any of these rights, we'll normally respond within a reasonable time, and any identity check will be proportionate to the request.

You can also lodge a complaint with South Africa's Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za. You don't have to complain to us first.

10. Children

ClubPlay is intended for users aged 18 and older, consistent with South African gambling law. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, if we learn that we have, we'll delete it.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect any information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but that doesn't reduce our obligations under POPIA.

12. Third-party links

ClubPlay links out to bookmaker and casino operators. Once you leave clubplay.co.za, that operator's own privacy policy applies, not this one, we encourage you to review it before creating an account.

13. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page as ClubPlay adds functionality, such as live affiliate tracking or a connected newsletter, and update the date at the top when we do. A material change will be reflected here before it takes effect.
